I did like how the book is bilingual and includes different cultures. The book is joining two cultures together to make them feel one. I think younger children would be able to relate to similar colors in their world by saying they also see the same colors as they walk outside their community.
I would emphasize the colors in both Spanish and English language for them to be able to hear them and repeat the words.
